CITY GUIDE

Busan – Haeundae & Centum City

BEXCO sits in Centum City, a business and shopping district in Haeundae-gu on Busan Metro Line 2. Haeundae Beach and Gwangalli Beach are both a few subway stops away, so a seaside evening after the show is easy.

Venues: BEXCO

Where to stay

  • Centum City — Right next to BEXCO: exit 1 of Centum City Station (Line 2) is about 50 m from Exhibition Center 1, with a large department store and spa complex nearby.
  • Haeundae Beach — Busan's main beach area, with hotels along the sand and plenty of restaurants; a couple of stops east of BEXCO on Line 2.
  • Gwangalli — A smaller beach facing the lit-up Gwangandaegyo Bridge, with sea-view cafes and restaurants; a few stops west on Line 2.

Getting around

  • Use Busan Metro Line 2: Centum City Station exit 1 is the closest to BEXCO Exhibition Center 1, and BEXCO Station is also nearby.
  • From Seoul, take the KTX train to Busan Station, then the subway to BEXCO (about 40 minutes for the subway leg).
  • From Incheon Airport, a domestic connecting flight to Gimhae (Busan) Airport is an alternative to the train.
  • T-money cards work on the Busan subway and buses; taxis can be booked with the Kakao T app.

After the show

  • Haeundae Beach and Dongbaekseom — Busan's best-known beach, with a short, flat coastal trail around Dongbaekseom at its western end that passes a lighthouse and the Nurimaru APEC House. (Dongbaek or Haeundae Station, a couple of stops east on Line 2)
  • Gwangalli Beach night view — After dark, the Gwangandaegyo Bridge lights up across the bay in changing colours, with buskers, cafes and seafood restaurants along the beach. (13-minute walk from Gwangan Station exit 5 (Line 2))
  • Haeundae Blueline Park — A former coastal railway turned into a scenic route, with the Beach Train and the elevated Sky Capsule running from Mipo toward Cheongsapo and Songjeong. (Starts at Mipo, at the eastern end of Haeundae Beach)
  • Spa Land Centum City — A spa inside Shinsegae Centum City with baths fed by natural hot-spring water, themed saunas and outdoor foot baths; open into the evening. (Centum City Station exit 12, next to BEXCO)

Where to eat

  • Dwaeji gukbap (pork and rice soup) — Busan's signature dish: pork in a milky bone broth, served with rice. Several well-known shops are near Haeundae Beach.
  • Milmyeon (Busan wheat noodles) — Chewy wheat noodles in a cold broth or with a spicy sauce, created in Busan during the Korean War; especially popular in summer.
  • Millak raw fish restaurants (Gwangalli) — At the end of Gwangalli Beach, a cluster of restaurants serving sliced raw fish and seasonal seafood.
  • Haeundae Market — A traditional market near the beach with street food stalls, seafood sellers and small restaurants.
